Notary Public Stamps

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Kent Pinkerton Clerical supplies such as notary stamps, record books, handbooks and embossing seals are available for notaries to notarize various legal documents. A notary public stamp is an exclusive property of a notary public. It should be kept under the direct and exclusive supervision of the notary. A notary public seal, usually of the rubber stamp type, is affixed to all notarized paper documents in photographically reproducible black ink. Notary public stamps normally contain the full legal name of the notary, the title ?Notary Public including the State?, the commission number, and the date of expiration of the commission. In some states, there is a line with the county in which the notary is qualified. This information is usually seen right after the state. The rubber stamp seal is the official sign for use on a paper document. An impression type seal is also used in addition to the rubber stamp seal. However, the rules do not permit to use the impression type seal only. A notary public whose official seal is lost, stolen, or found to be in control of another person is required to immediately inform the Department of State or the Governor. Any individual who illegally possesses a notary public official stamp or any papers relating to notarial deeds is punishable. In general, states do not provide notary public stamps. They issue notary commission certificates, to be taken to a rubber stamp company as proof of commission. The certificate permits the seller to take the order for a notary public stamp. To obtain a notary public stamp, first check with your bonding company that normally makes the stamps. If you cannot find one, the yellow pages dealing with stamps, seals, notary supplies and stationery stores can help. A notary stamp cannot be ordered until the notary public certificate is accepted. Bavarian Pope to Pump Life into EU Body

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By David Ben-Ariel The European Observer article “Who will lead Europe in 2006?” by Peter Sain ley Berry, warns Europe is in desperate need of leadership and vision or faces disintegration: “…what Europe does need, clearly, is leadership. Leadership that is capable of forging a transnational consensus and commanding respect among the electorates of member states… But without such a coherent vision, whether it comes from a member state politician or from a European Parliamentarian, the European project risks falling victim to the vacuum that is its empty centre… We can only hope that cometh the hour, cometh the man - or indeed woman - someone who will not only advocate reform but deliver it as well. Who indeed will succeed in drawing this sword from the stone? That is the real question for 2006.” Biblical prophecy, which is often history recorded in advance by our Great Creator God, the Superior and Supreme Being of the Universe (who far surpasses mortal capabilities), not only announces there will be a United States of Europe, the final revival of the so-called Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation as Herbert W. Armstrong warns within The United States and Britain in Prophecy, but gives us the details that it will be composed of both weak and strong elements that don’t share the right chemistry to form a long lasting relationship, and that such a corrupt cohesion will thankfully last only 3 1/2 years (that will seem like an eternity). The EU will ultimately consist of a core group, the top ten nations, who will serve as the nucleus the other member states circle their wagons around, especially when threatened by an Islamofascist leader and his confederation to the south. Watch for the Bavarian pope to provide leadership and stack the EU deck in the Roman Catholic Church’s favor. Expect Herr Ratzinger to get more lively about Europe’s direction and exert undue influence to sway public opinion to support the Vatican’s wannabe divine emperor to lead Europe. After all, the pope isn’t merely a Church leader but a head of state: a politician. The pope will powerfully back that man with lying signs and wonders, having the masses eating out of his hand, and proclaim such “miracles” are proof that Providence has chosen this hour to reveal such a man to save Europe and lead the world. The pope will bring the EU body to life! The pope’s political ally will revive what amounts to the Roman empire, and World War III will follow! Make A Stunning Dried Hydrangea Wreath

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Valerie Garner Dried hydrangea wreaths are so beautiful and versatile in a home, and a lot of fun to make as well. You can either purchase already dried hydrangea flowers from your local craft store, or you can dry your own. The biggest trick when drying your own is the timing of when you pick the flowers. It is best to pick them right before you anticipate your first fall frost. If you pick them mid-summer, they just will not dry correctly. You can either hang them upside down in a darkened room to dry, or you can set them in a vase upright, even adding a tiny bit of water in the bottom of the vase, although even that is optional. As long as they are picked at the correct time, its difficult to fail with them. Its fun if you can, to pick several blooms from different bushes, as it will provide a nice variety of colors to the wreath. After they are dried, pick off any dead / discolored brown blooms. Now, pick the type of base you want to use for a wreath. My personal favorites are either Styrofoam or grapevine type wreath bases. Take some floral wire and wrap it around the wreath, then form a loop of the wire to hang from the wall, and then wrap the wreath again. You might try hanging it from the wall at this point to make sure it lies correctly, and then make any needed adjustments while the wreath is bare. To do a Styrofoam wreath, use a low melt point hot glue gun. Separate each bloom into smaller florets. Hot glue each floret into the wreath base, actually poking the stem down into the Styrofoam base. With each bloom, space it out over the surface of the wreath, for example; a floret at the top, next left side, bottom, then right side, then inside the circle of the wreath, and outside of the wreath. Continue to do this with each bloom until you fill it. Balance is what you are looking for. Balance in shape, you dont want any sticking out way above the others, you dont want one side of the wreath to be fuller than the other. Try stepping back and looking at a distance and just think balance of shape. The second area to look for is balance of color. This is the purpose of doing each bloom all over, then filling in, so you achieve that balance of color. Give another once over to check on that. Now, this wreath is either finished, or you can add perhaps add small sprigs of dried babys breath to it. Really depends on the look you want. Sometimes the simplicity of only the hydrangeas is stunning. For a grapevine wreath, its the same principal but a different look. You can tie a bow on the wreath if you want (if you do, do so before adding flowers), or ribbon. I like to leave bare spaces on these to be able to see the grapevine portion as well. Again, look for balance. You can also add dried roses to it or any other type of dried flowers or grasses too. You can get really creative with these and come up with very different looks. Experiment to your hearts content. Many times people expect dried floral arrangements to last forever, and are disappointed when they start looking bad after a few years. This is a misconception. Expect them to look good for about a year, thats really about all they were meant to last. If they are in direct sunlight it will be a much shorter time. However, the next year, feel free to strip the old flowers off, and make another with the same base for another years worth of a gorgeous hand made wreath! Walk Your Way to Weight Loss

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Bob Tracz The sovereign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best. Thomas Jefferson The problem of obesity is growing (pardon the pun) in America and it doesnt appear that dieting alone is helping people with their weight loss goals. Millions of Americans are trying to achieve weight loss, spending approximately $30 billion a year on diet, weight loss programs and weight loss products; and often they do lose some weight for a short period of time. If you check with these same people five years later, you will find that nearly all have regained whatever weight they lost making their weight loss temporary at best. A national panel recently sought data to determine if any commercial weight loss diet or weight loss program could provide long-term weight loss success. Not a single program could do so. Although your weight may initially drop while dieting the weight loss consists mostly of water and muscle. And when the weight returns, it comes back as fat. Thats not to say that reducing your caloric intake wont aid weight loss. It simply means dieting alone wont lead to the kind of sustained weight loss you would like to achieve. It was found that people who diet without exercising often get fatter with time. So exercise is crucial to getting healthy, sustained weight loss results. A recent national study noted that there was a significant relationship between lack of physical activity and fat. If you want to reduce your body fat, focus on increasing the amount of activity you do rather than decreasing your food intake. The kind of weight loss you want is possible, you dont have to spend a lot of money to achieve it and you dont need to diet. You dont need to join a gym, nor do you need special clothing, equipment or facilities to achieve this weight loss. The kind of weight loss Im talking about can be achieved at work while youre working or at home wile youre doing your daily chores around the house. You can achieve the kind of weight loss you want working alone or with others although it is more fun when you work with others. And, your motivation will be better as well. Another great exercise is to do push-ups - from the dinner table that is. In general increase your overall activity level through the day. Your activities dont even need be strenuous. Just increasing you overall general activity level (such as climbing the stairs, minute-to-minute movement in the office or at home, shovelling the driveway, mowing the lawn, even showing just a little excitement and enthusiasm) are things that more effectively burns calories and reduces body fat than a half-hour aerobic workout. Walking is another great exercise for strengthening bones, weight loss, toning the leg muscles, maintaining good posture and improving positive self-concept. In order to lose weight, it’s more important to walk for time than speed. Walking at a moderate pace yields longer workouts with less soreness - leading to more miles and more fat worked off on a regular basis. High intensity walks on alternate days help condition one’s system. But in a walking, weight-loss program, you are not required to walk an hour every day as some people would have you believe. To avoid getting fatter over time, increase your metabolism by exercising regularly. However, common sense tells us that exercising without maintaining a balanced diet is no more beneficial than dieting while remaining inactive. When it comes to good health and weight loss, exercise and diet are inter-related. Robert Tracz is a researcher, author and speaker. College is Expensive - Should You Go?

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Perriann Rodriguez A College Degree is Expensive! Period. Even if you are looking at an in-state college or university and plan to live at home, the costs can be a little overwhelming. Just to give you a few examples from Top 10 colleges: Purdue University: In-state tuition as of 2006 is: $7,096 per year. A 4-year B.S. Degree at these rates would be: $28,384. For comparison purposes, we will not look at room/board numbers. Ohio State University: In-state tuition as of 2006 is: $8,667. A 4-year B.S. Degree at these rates would be: $34,668. Iowa State University: In-state tuition as of 2006 is $6,135. A 4-year B.S. Degree at these rates would be $24,540. Michigan State University: In-state tuition as of 2006 is $7,665. A 4-year B.S. Degree at these rates would be: $30,660 So, as you can see, when you start looking at total numbers it is very clear that college will cost you some money. You ask, is it really worth it? Absolutely is the answer. The U.S. Census Bureau released research from 2003 about the average starting salary for high school graduates, college graduates, masters and doctorate graduates. The average starting salary for a high school graduate was $21,948, while college graduates earned nearly twice as much at $40,287 and Master Degree graduates at $50,020. Doctorates and professional degrees earned the most at $64,372 and $75,322. And if that is not enough to convince you, the National Association of Colleges + Employment release their Spring 2006 Salary Survey results. The starting salaries for college graduates range from $30,000 for liberal arts majors to $56,500 for chemical engineering majors. If you were to take these numbers, assuming no increase in salary, you will be making almost double the amount of annual salary with a college bachelors degree than you would with only a high school degree. Lawn Furniture

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Mark Lambie If you love being outdoors, you should pick lawn furniture that you love! It should be more than practical and functional. It should add to the very experience of being outside. There are so many options in lawn furniture, and you are sure to find something to fit within your budget. Does your family host a lot of picnics? If so, theres no doubt a picnic table in your future. Picnic tables come in a lot of varieties ranging from plastic to cast iron. This is one piece of furniture that can truly fit into any budget. If the picnic table will be used predominantly by adults, a cheaper plastic variety might suit your needs. But if kids are planned guests, think about investing in something just a little more sturdy that can hold up to a flurry of activity that usually follows kids. If a picnic table and benches are not your style, dont despair. Look into other tables. Choose a heavy glass and concrete pedestal table. Mix and match chairs to get the lawn furniture look you want. Or buy a set. Your lawn furniture fashion options are endless! You can find lawn furniture at a number of stores ranging from your local discount or big box store to the woodworker who custom designs lawn furniture specifically to your liking. And dont forget the Internet as a source. You have a world of lawn furniture at your fingertips and can even shop from home while wearing your pajamas! No matter where you plan to buy your lawn furniture, there are a number of items you should check before making a purchase. First, if there happens to be a model on display, try it out. Sit in the chairs. Put pressure on the table top to see how sturdy it is. Does it tip easily? There is only one way to find out! If you buy a lawn furniture set that needs to be assembled, do an inventory of the contents of the box as soon as you open it. If you find that you are missing a part, call the store immediately and let them know you will be coming for either a replacement for the missing part or returning the set you have for a complete one. Once you get the complete set, follow the manufacturers directions for assembly. Speaking of assembly, if the thought frightens you, ask the sales clerk if the store offers an assembly service. You can expect to pay extra for the service, but if saving time means something to you, the assembly service is worth considering. Once you have constructed your lawn furniture, you are ready to start enjoying it. Maybe you already have the perfect place in mind for it. If not, just pretend your yard is a big room. Move your lawn furniture around to experiment with placement just like you would in your house. Once you find the spot, settle in. Youll be happy with your lawn furniture purchase for a long time. Painless Tips for Reducing Cellulite

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Charles Kassotis When you look into the mirror after a shower, do you find any wrinkled or puckered skin? This is what many people call cellulite, and it often tends to appear on the buttocks or thighs, although it can show up almost anywhere. Cellulite is basically evidence of extra fat stores under the skins surface. Although it doesnt differ markedly from other types of fat, some people believe it is stubborn and harder to get rid of. There is no magical formula to whittle away cellulite from your body. Actually, you can make it disappear in the same way as you get rid of other areas of fat, like on the upper arms or the face. Although you can find special products sold on the Internet or in health food stores that claim to target cellulite, there is no solid evidence that they work. Nor can you rub it away, as some brush or loofah-type products purport. Instead, you will have to go about losing it the same way as you would extra pounds on other parts of your body. Here are some common and healthy ways to start reducing your cellulite. 1. Cut back on eating fatty foods. Tasty dishes like deep-fried items, butter-rich desserts or side dishes, greasy red meat, and other fat-laden entrees or snacks can rapidly pile on the pounds and dimple your skin. Eat spare portions of these things. If youre not sure which foods have high fat content, check packages or calorie counters to find out. 2. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Fresh veggies, especially, are tasty and good for you. They are full of water, which helps to flush out your system and get rid of fatty deposits that may be bunching under your skin. Snack on a variety of colors in your plant foods, from green celery to purple plums and orange peaches. Youll stock your system with healthy nutrients, displacing the urge to snack on fatty food items. 3. Drink plenty of water. Most people should try to have eight glasses (eight ounces each) daily, or even one or two glasses more while exercising or in hot weather. This helps to keep your body hydrated, flushes toxins, and may even make you feel fuller so youll have fewer food cravings. Water is a natural cleanser that can remove harmful substances and nourish each cell. 4. Exercise regularly. Check with your doctor about the plan that is right for you, and then get started. Depending on your health and overall condition, you can probably choose from several types of exercise, including walking, hiking, swimming, biking, tennis, or jogging. Aim for 30 minutes a day to start, unless your doctor says otherwise. Gradually increase the frequency and intensity of your workout, and you will see quicker results. Making a few basic lifestyle changes will help you get rid of cellulite for good. Ask your doctor to approve changes like these, and then watch that cellulite disappear! Watching Your Children’s Garden Grow

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Rondi Hillstrom Davis Start some gardening traditions with your kids. Give them their own garden patch and a spot to dig. Children love getting their hands dirty and watching things grow. Be sure to buy good quality, child sized gardening tools. Plastic toy versions just wont hold up to the task. You will also need childrens gloves and a watering can. Mark off the garden area and turn the soil. Kids can help break up any lumps with their hands. Work in some organic compost. Choose seeds that will grow quickly. Small children get impatient if their plants take too long to sprout. Radishes, Snapdragons, Cosmos, and Sunflowers will all germinate quickly. Carrots and strawberries are also easy to grow– and yummy to eat. Large seeds like beans and Morning Glories are easy for small fingers to push into the ground. You can start your seeds indoors in an eggshell carton. When the seedlings are an inch high, tear off the egg carton, and leaving the soil intact, transplant the seedlings outside. Or, try placing beans on a wet paper towel inside a zip top bag. Tape the bag to a sunny window and wait for the seeds to germinate. I can remember, as a child, checking my beans every morning before school. The first shoots appeared to my delight and we carefully transplanted the beans outdoors. Make garden markers by painting small rocks. This will help kids keep track of their selections. Make it fun! Grow a sunflower house by planting the sunflowers in a circle with a space in the middle big enough for your kids to hide. Be sure to leave room for a door. Grow a spaghetti garden. Plant herbs such as basil, oregano, rosemary, and parsley. My kids love to snip fresh herbs. They stuff their pockets full of scented spaghetti herbs. Share your garden with butterflies and hummingbirds. Zinnias, Verbena, and Cosmos are butterfly favorites. Hummingbirds love the nectar from Nasturtium and Lantana, and Hollyhocks. Children love to pick up bugs and worms. Poke holes in the top of an old jar. Add some dirt and a few, new found specimens. Be sure to release the critters back into nature after a few hours. Arm your kids with cameras to take photos throughout the summer. They will enjoy remembering the fruits of their labor. And, the pictures will help your budding gardener plan for next year. Happy planting. And, dont forget to pick a few bouquets for mom. You have permission to reprint this article electronically or in print, free of charge, provided that each article is: 1. Organic Gardening - The Pros And Cons

Friday, September 14th, 2007

By Judith Schwader Picture three ripe red tomatoes arranged on a wooden cutting board awaiting your pleasure. They’ve each come from a different source: can you tell which one was grown organically? Two of the tomatoes were lovingly tended in backyards - one in a conventional garden and the other in an organic garden. The third tomato came from the supermarket, and it’s easy to eliminate from the guessing game. The supermarket tomato is the pale red one the size and shape of a tennis ball. Bred for packing, shipping, and storing, (not flavor), this tomato was picked green, has traveled more than a thousand miles from farm to store, and has sat on the shelf for weeks — looking none the worse for wear. Set this one aside. It was definitely not grown organically. Two remain. For the sake of the game, they are the same tomato variety, let’s say Big Beef slicers. Bright red, they were just picked and are still warm to the touch from afternoon sun. It’s not so easy to tell the difference in these; we have to look beyond the surface… literally. The quality of the soil from which they grew is the key element to naming the winner of this game: conventional tomato vs. organic tomato. The chemicals in the fertilizers used in conventional gardens actually break down the health of the soil. Microbes that are necessary for making soil nutrients available to the plants are killed off. The dead soil requires increasing doses of conventional fertilizer, and still the plants are malnourished, falling prey to insects and disease. Enter the deadly pesticides, sprayed liberally on the plant. Now, the game is getting serious. One of the two remaining contestants in our tomato contest had better be carefully washed before being eaten; it’s been dusted with poison. On the other hand, the organically grown tomato also had fertilizer applied to it, but this fertilizer was made from naturally occurring substances like bone meal, fish emulsion, and rock phosphate. These additions fed the soil and did no harm to the beneficial microbes that make nutrients available for use by plants. Pesticides probably weren’t necessary because a healthy plant produces its own pest-resistant chemicals. But if there were pests, the organic gardener might have used a home-mixed spray of hot pepper and garlic, or something similarly non-toxic to humans. There are a few additional techniques the organic gardener probably used, such as tilling in a cover crop to add organic material for the microbes and earthworms to decompose. This process results in a crumbly textured soil that holds moisture and allows the roots to breathe. But even without the soil improvement from a cover crop, it’s fairly clear which tomato is better for health: the only nutrients that can be found in the fruit had to come from what was available in the soil. The organically grown tomato provides better nutrition. What is not so clear is which tomato is better for flavor. A test of the ratio of sugar to acid might be made, but that isn’t a big issue. Both the conventionally grown and organically grown tomato are vastly superior in flavor to the poor tomato found in most supermarkets. The original question in this tomato guessing game was whether you could tell which one of those ripe, juicy tomatoes on the cutting board was organic. Turns out that it’s hard to tell just by looking, or even just by tasting. So, what’s the big issue? Mainly this: sustainability. Conventional growing depletes and eventually destroys the soil. Whereas organic growing techniques actually build and improve the soil. In the end, the nutritious organic tomato contributes more to your health, and it is certainly better for the health of the soil from which all future crops will come.
